Walk-in dentist in Melaka: do I need an appointment?

How long will I wait if I walk in?

Walk-in patients at Ooi Dental are usually seen immediately, and within 30 minutes at the longest. That applies at both the Kota Laksamana and Taman Lagenda clinics in Melaka.

The wait depends on who is already in the chair when you arrive. If a dentist is free, you go straight in. If every chair is taken, the front desk will tell you how long, and 30 minutes is the usual ceiling.

If you are in pain, say so at the counter. Emergency cases such as toothache or a broken tooth are attended to immediately during opening hours, ahead of routine walk-ins.

When is it better to book?

Book ahead when you want a specific time, when you are travelling across Melaka to reach us, or when you already know the treatment will take a while, such as a denture fitting or a filling.

Booking on WhatsApp takes one message: your name and a preferred time. The clinic replies with a confirmed slot, and the chair is set aside for you. Walk-ins are fitted around booked patients, not the other way round.

Kota Laksamana is on 017-228 7088 and Taman Lagenda on 018-261 7088. These are the only two numbers Ooi Dental uses for appointments in Melaka.

Which Ooi Dental clinic is open right now?

Ooi Dental Kota Laksamana is open 9:00am to 6:00pm every day. Ooi Dental Taman Lagenda is open 10:00am to 7:00pm every day, including public holidays.

Early in the morning, Kota Laksamana opens first. After 6:00pm, Taman Lagenda is the one still open. Both clinics open seven days a week, so a Sunday walk-in is not a problem.

Kota Laksamana is in Malacca City, near Melaka Raya. Taman Lagenda is in Peringgit, opposite Aeon Bandaraya Melaka. Walk into whichever is closer: both offer the same four lines of care.

What should I bring for a walk-in visit?

Your IC. If another clinic or doctor referred you, bring the referral letter as well.

Nothing else is needed for a first visit. If you have had treatment at our other Ooi Dental branch, mention it at the counter: each clinic keeps its own patient record (more in our FAQ), and the team will make sure the dentist seeing you has what they need.

Ooi Dental accepts cash, debit and credit cards, e-wallets such as Touch 'n Go, GrabPay and DuitNow QR, and ShopeePayLater.

Is there parking if I just turn up?

At Ooi Dental Kota Laksamana, street parking in front of the clinic is free on Mondays and Tuesdays. On other days it is MBMB paid street parking.

MBMB street parking in Melaka is paid through the usual coupon or app system, so have that ready on a weekday walk-in.

Will someone speak my language?

Yes. The Ooi Dental team speaks English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese. Tell the counter your preference and you will be matched with the right person.
